Five of the “Big Six” energy companies have announced significant price rises, which will add over £100 a year to a typical bill. With other companies expected to follow suit, Wirral-based charity Energy Projects Plus advises that now is the time to switch and benefit from the best deals.
The ‘Switch Together, Save Together’ campaign was created by Energy Projects Plus with Wirral Council and the other Merseyside local authorities, to help residents explore if switching is worthwhile for them, without any pressure. Switching partner, energyhelpline, will find the best deal for people’s needs. Anyone can take part, regardless of current supplier or payment methods. Those who have never switched, or haven’t in the last 12 months, are likely to benefit most.
Peter Owen, Chief Executive at Energy Projects Plus says: “If you haven’t checked if it is worthwhile for you to switch then do take advantage of the support offered through our scheme.”
The first Liverpool City Region Collective Switch took place in June. Over 4,600 people joined the collective switch, which saved residents an average of £110 a year on their bills. The next Collective Switch will launch in January.
Mr Allan Brame from Oxton, Wirral took part in the Liverpool City Region Collective Switch and saved £465. He said; “A few minutes time, a straightforward process and a large saving. Why wouldn’t you do it?”
