The Sunset Dawn is a global arts and media festival connecting the midsummer sunset over New Brighton with dawn breaking over Tokyo, Shanghai and Sydney. Join us through a White Night of world music and entertainment and celebrate the dawn breaking over Liverpool as the sun sets over California…
Fort Perch Rock: 7pm – 8pm: doors open to visit Fort
8pm – 10.30pm stage show of world music, dance, comedy and poems into the sunset featuring China Pearl and our regular fireside bards. (Tickets £5 available from 1 June via www.ticketswirral.com)
Floral Pavilion: 9.30pm – 11pm: music and poetry for the sunset in the
Panoramic Lounge. (Free entry)
4.00am – 6.00am (Saturday) music and poetry for the dawn
with coffee and breakfast at the cafe. (Free entry)
Grosvenor Casino: open 24/7 with themed music and entertainment
from around the world and food and drink to keep the party going! (Free member only entry – pre-registration advised via www.grosvenorcasinos.com)
Light Cinema: Friday – Sunday (24 June): Koyaanisqatsi Life on Earth seen through the prophetic wisdom of the Hopi elders, with a soundtrack by Philip Glass. (Pay on the door or pre-book via www.lightcinemas.co.uk)
A Sunset Dawn exhibition with photographs, poems and an exposition of the thinking behind this visionary festival will run from Monday afternoon 18 June to Saturday afternoon 23 June at the Floral Pavilion.
