New Brighton
Heritage & Information Centre
90 Victoria Road, New Brighton
Open: Mon – Sat 10.30am -4pm, Sun 11am – 4pm
As always there are lots of new things happening in the centre:
This includes presentations about New Brighton’s history – including Smugglers tunnels and Wirral Lido’s – back by popular demand and summer walking tours which will commence from 17th May 2012 (see below).
During June we will also be installing a new exhibition at the centre highlighting the popular photography of two well known and well loved local photographers.
We are also still interested in collecting peoples favourite memories about New Brighton and any pictures people have of the tower, ballroom or any other aspects of New Brighton’s vibrant and varied history. Come down to the centre and share these with the volunteers (please note we will not keep originals but will copy them and give them back to the owners).
As we are approaching summer we have lots of new information and free leaflets about events, activities and attractions taking place in and around New Brighton, Wirral and Merseyside. Pop in and see what you can pick up that will help you get out and join in with all these wonderful activities – don’t miss out.
We also have some new pictures of old New Brighton for sale as well as books and memorabilia of the history of the area and postcards so you can send a note to a friend and show them how much New Brighton has changed.
With all this going on we are always looking for more volunteers to help us make this centre a really big success. If you have some time each week and would like to help please contact Cathy on 639 3555, by email [email protected] or just pop into the centre for a chat. We are always happy to welcome new volunteers.
